Winter break is officially over. After two weeks of eating junk food all day, rotting our brains in front of the TV in our pajamas, it’s time to get back to school and work.

I did my best to prepare everyone because I knew it would be a rough day, trying to get back into the swing of things. I made the kids get their clothes out, they ate an early dinner and were in the bed by 8:30pm. I put myself to bed at 11:30pm trying to prepare my body and mind for its earliest start in over 2 weeks. The house was quiet, but I couldn’t sleep. Surprisingly, when my kids are screaming, fighting and watching TV with the volume at the highest, most deafening levels, I sleep like a baby.

But nothing prepares you for the moans and groans, sighs and cries you hear when the alarm sounds at 6:30am, and I haven’t woken the kids up yet.

Before, rolling out of the bed I knew this day was going to be a busy one. I knew my inbox would be full of emails to sort through. I would have to re-familiarize myself with my calendar and upcoming events, and as my daughter’s classroom parent, send out reminders to all the other parents! My middle daughter’s birthday is coming up and I haven’t started a single party plan. Adding in the thoughts of daily sports practices and games for all 3 kids…. I almost forgot I still had to go to work.

But first I had to get the kids off to school…

After burning the Eggos, let’s just say, I wasn’t off to a good start. But, with the help of my hubby we got the kids off to school and myself off to work just to realize when I got there, I forgot my phone at home. I don’t know about you, but my chance of survival plummets to zero without my phone. Especially on a day like today, with all I had to do. I had to go back and get it.

On my way home from work, I realized all of our dinner options were frozen, forcing me to make a stop at the grocery store to pick up something to cook for dinner. Which lead me to Taco Monday, pretty similar to Taco Tuesday, but with a mere day switch :). I rushed home to cook dinner before having to take my oldest daughter to soccer practice by 5:30pm and then my middle daughter to her basketball game by 6:45pm.

Her game ended at 8pm, which had us home by 8:30pm. They had to eat dinner, take baths, and brush teeth. When they were finally off to bed, I had to eat, shower and here I am sharing my crazy day. Shit, I forgot to get their clothes out for tomorrow…They’ll be late…Nobody’s perfect…

It’s now 12:15am (Tuesday), but I couldn’t let this day pass, without sharing it, because I know some of you had one just like it! So forgive my ramblings and typos and just roll with it. Our lives as parents are crazy busy and hectic, but secretly, shhhh, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

I would love to hear about your crazy Monday, if you care to share!

Til Next Time,
