Slow and steady wins the race, that’s the old saying right?

Well, I’m calling BULLSHIT on that one. There is nothing slow and steady about parenthood.  Any parent can tell you it’s more like a rat race.

You are constantly on the move between drop-offs and pick-ups, lessons and sports, you practically live in your car. And regardless of  how much you plan, how many to-do lists you create, there’s never enough time in the day to put a dent in it all. Shit, truth be told, it takes half the day to create the dang thing and the fact that you keep forgetting your thought before you can write it down doesn’t help either. (Or does that only happen to me?)

No worries, feel comfort in knowing that you aren’t the only one.  Whether you are a SAHM or a working mom (I’ve been both) the bottom line is the same; it’s hard. Correction it’s HARD AS HELL, not to mention a huge responsibility.

As parents we know, understand and accept (most of the time) that it’s a thankless job, with no finish line because you’ll never stop being a parent. But at points when the race slows, you can look back and revel in the countless successes you’ve witnessed, been a part of and had a hand in along the way.

So if you haven’t heard it today…..

Til next time…
